About the Couple

While you may have grown up as a brother, parent, or close friend to the bride or groom, it is rare that those closest to the couple really know the couple as a whole. Honestly, the couple themselves will most probably spend the better part of a year really just getting to know each other all over again. It’s important to use the time while the couple are first engaged to really get to know the couple so that once they are married you don’t quickly feel disjointed from loved ones.

I know of a sad story where a friend never had the opportunity to get to know one of his closest friend’s wife. Shortly after the wedding he left on a mission and when he returned he felt he had lost a close bond with his friend and that he knew little about his friend and the couple.

•Email Regularly
•Find similar interests that you and the future spouse have in common
