President Spencer W. Kimball on Eternal Marriage

September 7, 1976
Given in an address at BYU entitled:
"Oneness in Marriage "

"Marriage is perhaps the most vital of all the decisions and has the most far-reaching effects, for it has to do not only with immediate happiness, but also with eternal joys. It affects not only the two people involved, but also their families and particularly their children and their children’s children down through the many generations."

Given in an address at BYU entitled:
"Marriage & Divorce"

“While marriage is difficult, and discordant and frustrated marriages are common, yet real, lasting happiness is possible, and marriage can be more an exultant ecstasy than the human mind can conceive. This is within the reach of every couple, every person.”

Wedding Information

Although it is your wedding keep in mind that it isn’t just your wedding. Many people are sacrificing time at work and with family to share your special day with you. Expecially with an LDS wedding where there is time spent at the temple, taking photos, wedding luncheon, reception, and any time in between.

It's important to let your guests know when to expect each of the events to begin. For example:

•Ceremony: Begins at 8:30
(be in the waiting room 30 minutes beforehand)

•Photos: Please be outside the temple at 9:30
We'd like to invite you to be apart of our wedding photos

•Wedding Luncheon: Lunch will be served promptly at 12:00 P.M.

•Reception: Goes from 7-9. The first dance will be at 8:30 followed by the cake being cut at 8:45 and at 9:00 we will being the couple farewell as they leave on their honeymoon to Hawaii.

Again we'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing our special day with us.

Signed,
